Renting with Pets: Understanding Main Street Renewal’s Pet Policies

Finding a new home isn’t just about you — it’s about your whole family, and that includes your pets. At Main Street Renewal, we know how important it is to find a rental that works for everyone, whether your family member has two legs or four. That’s why we’ve designed our pet policies to make it easier for pet owners to feel at home while also keeping our properties in great condition.

Why We Welcome Pets

We love pets as much as you do! At Main Street Renewal, we know that pets bring joy, comfort, and companionship to everyday life. That’s why most of our homes are pet-friendly. While a few HOA's may have restrictions, you’ll find that many of our houses are designed with your furry friends in mind. From spacious backyards to open floor plans, our homes give pets plenty of room to play, relax, and thrive right alongside you.

What to Expect from Our Pet Policy

Every property is a little different, but here are the key things you should know about renting with pets:

  • Number of Pets: You may have up to four (4) approved pets in a Main Street Renewal home.
  • Weight Limit: The combined weight of all pets cannot exceed 300 pounds.
  • Local Rules: If a Homeowners Association (HOA) or local ordinance has stricter rules, those will apply.

Types of Pets:

  • Dogs and cats are welcome in nearly all properties (breed restrictions may apply).
  • Small animals such as gerbils, hamsters, and guinea pigs are allowed.
  • Ferrets, rabbits, and chinchillas are not permitted.

Pet Fees: There is a non-refundable pet deposit and monthly pet rent per pet. Please see the specific property page(s) for details.

Approval Process: All pets must be approved during the application process. This ensures our team has the right details and that the home is a good fit for your pets.

Service Animals and Emotional Support Animals

We comply with the Fair Housing Act. Service animals and emotional support animals are not considered pets and are accepted without additional pet rent or breed restrictions. Documentation may be required.

Tips for a Smooth Move with Pets

Moving can be stressful for animals, too. Here are a few ways to help your pets settle into their new home:

  • Bring their favorite toys, bedding, or crate to create a sense of familiarity.
  • Keep a routine with feeding and walks during the transition.
  • Explore the new backyard and neighborhood slowly, giving them time to adjust.

The Bottom Line

At Main Street Renewal, we want both you and your pets to feel at home. By following our pet policies, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your furry family members are welcome while we keep our homes safe and comfortable for everyone.
