The City

Houston is the fourth most populous city in the United States and the largest city in Texas. In 2014 it had a population of 2,239,000. The Houston metro area touches three counties: Fort Bend, Harris, and Montgomery. The city has grown into a world class location with modern infrastructure, buoyant economy, lots of social and recreational amenities with a diverse population. In 2012 Houston topped Forbes’ list of America’s coolest cities.

Houston’s thriving economy is supported by diverse industries and sectors including mining, logging, oil and gas, construction, health, financial services, transport, art, recreation, agriculture, education and real estate among others. In 2015, these industries support more than two million jobs.
